A spoon is a food tool. It is usually used for eating foods that are like liquids and can also be used for stirring. A spoon is a utensil made up of a small shallow bowl (also known as the head), oval or round, at the end of a handle. A type of cutlery (sometimes referred to as flatware in the United States), especially as part of a place setting, is used primarily for the transfer of food to the mouth. Some solids like for example ice cream, cereal, yogurt is also usually eaten with a spoonful. On the other hand, a ladle is a larger type of serving spoon used for soup, stew, or other foods. Spoons are also used in food preparation to measure, mix, stir and toss ingredients and serve food.

Variety of Spoons
Dessert spoons- A dessert spoon is a spoon specially designed for dessert and sometimes used for soup or cereals. The approximate diameter of a teaspoon, but in the shape of a bowl, it holds about twice as much.
Soup spoons- A bowl spoon has a large or rounded bowl, used for soup eating. British and Chinese spoons, respectively A rounded soup spoon was a 19th-century innovation.
Baby spoons- They're smaller, because they're holding enough food for your little one's tiny mouth. Most versions also have a soft tip that is gentle on your baby's gums and an ergonomic handle that makes feeding your wrist a little more convenient.
Teaspoons- teaspoon is equal to 1/60th of a fluid ounce. Since it is thin, you can use it to measure out the amount of liquid, or to stir it. The popular measurement for teaspoons is around 2.5 to 7.3 mL
Tablespoons - A tablespoon is a big spoon. In many English-speaking regions, the word now refers to a large spoon used to serve; however, in some regions, it is the largest form of spoon used to eat. The word is often used, by implication, as a cooking indicator of volume.

There are also spoons that are collector's items and are worth a lot of money. Some musicians even use two spoons as a castanet-like musical instrument.  Spoons have been used as food tools since the Paleolithic era.
.
The present-day spoons are made of metal (notably flat silver or silverware, plated or solid), wood, porcelain or plastic. There is a wide variety of spoons made from a variety of materials and different cultures for a variety of different uses.

Conclusion: Paleolithic people probably used shell and wood as eating utensils. Both the Greek word and the Latin word for spoon come from the word cochlea, a spiral-shaped snail shell. Today we have experienced a luxurious sort of silver spoon on our table. Not only a small thing right at your table?
