A spoon is a food tool. It is usually used for eating foods that are like liquids and can also be used for stirring. The word is often used, by implication, as a cooking indicator of volume. There are also spoons that are collector's items and are worth a lot of money. Some musicians even use two spoons as a castanet-like musical instrument. Spoons have been used as food tools since the Paleolithic era. .
