Faith and hope are symbolized by this cross. In more recent history, the rainbow was used to symbolize moments and movements of social change during the twentieth century. In the 1960s, a rainbow flag was carried at peace marches in Italy and elsewhere, as well as at anti-nuclear weapons demonstrations. A persistent desire for peace.
A rainbow is the result of the interaction of sunlight and atmospheric conditions. The light that enters a water droplet slows and bends as it transitions from air to denser water. The light reflects off the droplet's interior, dispersing into its constituent wavelengths—or colors. When light exits the droplet, a rainbow is formed. A rainbow is a weather phenomenon that occurs when light rays bounce off tiny water droplets in the air, and they then disperse and reflect to create a color spectrum in the sky. The arc takes the shape of a colorful, circular rainbow. The Sun always creates rainbows in the section of the sky opposite it.
Rainbows can be circles that go all the way around. While most observers see only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground and located on a line from the sun to the observer's eye, there are some individuals who instead see an arc formed by eclipsing droplets, with the centers on lines connecting the observer's eye to the sun. A primary rainbow looks like an arc, with red near the outer end and violet nearer the middle. The rainbow you see in the photo is created by light being refracted when it enters a water droplet, and then reflected inside the droplet twice.
In a double rainbow, you can see a second arc, with red on the inside of the arc, on the outer side of the primary arc. Reflection occurs before the light exits the droplet because of the inside of the droplet reflecting the light twice. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet are the rainbow's seven colors.
This requires floating water droplets in the air. That is why we see them immediately following a rain. For the rainbow to appear, the Sun must be behind you and the clouds must have cleared away from the Sun.
Rainbows appear in seven colors because of sunlight being broken up by water droplets into the seven colors of the spectrum. When sunlight passes through a prism, the same effect occurs. The rainbow effect occurs because of the light being refracted within the droplet and then refracted out into the air.

In various cultures, rainbows have been viewed as a symbol of hope. During a rainstorm, droplets of water reflect the sunlight, scattering the white light into many brilliant hues. Light, fresh, and happy colours that are rare evoke a sense of awe and delight, as well as promising sunshine with blue skies to follow. Why do we believe rainbows make us happy?
